This Makita replaced a 20 year old Craftsman circular saw that had developed a bent arbor. I was impressed right out of the box. The depth and angle movements were smooth and easy to adjust. The magnesium base slides very nicely on the building material. Saw is a good weight – not tiresomely heavy, not cheap-y light.
I thought the LED light at the cutline was a gimmick and wouldn’t be worth much – but let me tell you, in the fading light of day when I was trying to get those last pieces of siding cut and installed, that light was a fantastic bit of engineering! I’m pleased and would recommend Makita 5007MG Circular Saw.
